Corrections

Corrections made to School Year Calendars district pages and data reports, with the date and what changed.

Last updated: 2026-10-16

When we find that a date on this site does not match a district's own calendar, we fix it and note it here. Small wording changes are not listed.

October 12, 2026: staff days with no students

We re-checked, against the original files, every staff and professional development day whose label did not say whether students attend. Many calendars show that students stay home only through a color, a symbol or the printed monthly day count.

  • Days the originals mark as no-school for students are now counted as days off. Among them: Springdale (Arkansas) on October 15–16, February 26 and April 23, and Election Day (November 3) in eight Connecticut districts and in Newport, Rhode Island.
  • Short training sessions held while students are in class stay school days.
  • Days the original files leave unclear are left as printed.

As a result, the Election Day, winter break and days in a school year reports changed: more districts close on Election Day, and fewer return from winter break on January 4.

October 12, 2026: Los Alamos school-year length

Los Alamos Public Schools lists January 4, 2027 as a staff planning day with no school for students. Its school-year count is 185 days, not 186.
